Behold My Nerdy Youthdom

I was the nerdy kid at school who drew all the time. My friends would request pics and I would draw them with mass glee. No matter how pornographic or vulgar I'd do it, I just loved to draw. I can't remember when I stopped, I just know one day in my 20s someone asked "do you draw anymore?" and I thought... no.

Anyhow.

I found out one of my best friends in the whole world held on to some of the last things I ever penned. When I see it, I remember just how nerdy I really was... and still am.

Just shot a local commercial, watch it or else

I just wrote and filmed a local commercial for friends in Boise. If you look carefully you'll see two of my kids and my dog smoking a cigarette. No cigarettes were harmed in the making of this commercial

Dear HBO,

Today I discovered two of my favorite flavors are coming together. This is like peanut butter and bananas or beer and anything else, HBO teased a new show.

You've combined Chris O'Dowd, in a new HBO mockumentary series, Family Tree and put the talent of Christopher Guest and all his minons behind it. You're going to offer a whole new awesomatic series and pretend you're still living in 2004. So again I make this plea.

Please look at the calendar, look at your demographics and please start offering HBO GO to the millions of people... just like me... who refuse to be reamed in the by cable companies ever again.

There are many of us who are living a happy life watching our favorite shows online. Netflix and Hulu have been very good to us. New episodes of Mad Men made me giddy this week. Tonight I'm going to catch up on Hell's Kitchen and be a happy little camper. But it's a restricted happy camper life. As restricted as it can be with illegal technology. By restricted I mean waiting for friends to give me the pirated copies of Game of Thrones the day after they air. Going to a friends house who liberated Boardwalk Empire off the interwebz. People just like me unwilling to pay a dime for cable, cable being an almost dead technology.

But what we would be willing to pay for is a monthly fee for your shows... allowing us to have HBO GO... anytime we want... online. How can you lose?

So HBO, though you won't actually read this... I will send my mental vibes and goodness your way. Open your hearts, open your minds, open your reach. Allow HBO GO... to the world.

All 6 Star Wars Movies Playing At Once On YouTube

Why doesn't this have a zillion views? Someone put all the Star Wars movies... all at once, on YouTube

What A Year It's Been

Generally I don't post life chunklets here. I post random oddities or videos I've produced. It's been a tool for showing off and posting the funny.

But I guess occasionally I can reach deep into my soul, or at least my front pocket and talk about life.

The last year has been amazing. Valentine's Day 2012 to Valentine's Day 2013. A year ago I decided to make a trek to be closer to my kids. Being a part time Dad was never what I wanted but somehow that's what my life evolved to. It all started with a dream.

A dream where I was living in the same city as my kids. I had a home and my girls were playing in my bed. I walked in and they hid from me. I smiled then was woken up. I was sad the rest of the day.

From there I decided I was moving. If I was going to be a part time Dad I was going to do it in the same damn town. So I packed up and was gone. Everything I could load in my car (I didn't have much) and was on the road. On the road I received a call that the town I was moving to, my ex had just decided to move away from. The timing Gods hated me. She didn't have a timeline but said her job was relocating her. I was in route, I guess I had a few months to figure it out.

I got to town, immediately found a great job, a place, and a new life. Suddenly my life got better. My kids asked to live with me full time.

Oh hellz ya.

Then I learn about the film community here, I get in touch with some incredible actors and crew and start making a new line of shorts. I'm working side by side with my son on a feature we're going to film this summer.

So now we fast forward. to Valentine's Day 2013. I'm in a new town, in a new house, a year into a job I love, and living full time with 2 of my amazing kids. I'm a real Dad again (well, as close as I can be)

I hope to have all my kids with me eventually. Maybe that's for my Valentine's Day 2014 post.

Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night made with bacon

I've decided after seeing there, there is nothing left to see on the internet. I couldn't be happier.

Oops, I forgot to post my Xmas commercial

This Xmas I filmed what I found a more "true to life" Elmo commercial. Touch Me Elmo
